Sr Associate Observational Research - Epidemiology Health Outcomes Bone Therapeutic Area
Observational research (OR) makes important contributions to drug development and commercialization along with randomized clinical trials. OR contributes evidence regarding the frequency and distribution of disease or the clinical burden of disease, the natural history or clinical course of disease, the design of clinical trials, cost and utilization patterns, and the safety and effectiveness of interventions. In the current environment, there is increasing demand for information from OR studies by regulatory and reimbursement authorities. The Center for Observational Research (CfOR) has been created to address this imperative.
The Sr Associate is a contributor within the CfOR Bone Therapeutic Areas and reports directly to a Director within the Therapeutic Area.
This position may be located at Amgen's Thousand Oaks headquarters or at Amgen's South San Francisco site; the preferred location is Thousand Oaks.
The primary responsibilities of the Sr Associate are to conduct statistical analyses, write study reports and conduct literature reviews to enhance Amgen's mission of serving patients.
Key Activities include:
• Conducting statistical analyses to support research strategy within the Bone observational research TA • Drafting study reports and contribute to development of manuscripts • Responsible for conducting literature reviews to support product strategy within TA • Contributing to research strategy within the product team and CfOR Bone TA • Providing input into observational research department meetings • Staying abreast of the latest developments in the field of observational research and drug development • Communicating scientific information to a variety of audiences
Basic Qualifications Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree & 2 years of directly related experience OR Associate's degree & 6 years of directly related experience OR High school diploma / GED & 8 years of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field
Experience in observational research, including knowledge of observational research databases
Programming in SAS or other software (e.g. STATA)
Experience communicating observational research information (written and oral)
