Responsibilities • Complete all work orders as assigned while meeting, or exceeding, Sunrise hospitality and service standards. • Service and repair all heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, laundry and kitchen equipment, plumbing and fixtures, electrical equipment, fixtures, motors, carpentry work, painting, and appliances. • Maintain all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition and ensure the security of all tools and repair parts. • Practice positive resident relations; direct resident or guest feedback to supervisor; direct special requests from residents to supervisor. • Understand and practice all Forum and Sunrise procedures and follow all safe work practices in accordance with all OSHPD, OSHA, EPA and local JHA • Apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures. • Properly wash, scrape, sand and /or smooth interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials. • Properly install, repair, and maintain drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing. • Erects various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work area for painters and others. • Operates heavy lift equipment including scissors, and boom swing stage to heights of 20 feet. • Apply paints, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines. • Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials. • Determine appropriate color for new or replacement applications through consultation with supervisor, sales and residents. • Maintain existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products. • Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials. • Service and make minor repairs to all heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, laundry and kitchen equipment, plumbing and fixtures, electrical equipment, fixtures, motors, carpentry work, painting, and appliances. Qualifications:
High school diploma
Commercial working knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and carpentry fields.
Five years of work experience as a plant engineer or maintenance mechanic
Ability to plan, estimate, procure and complete mechanical projects
Basic knowledge of building trades.
Ability to provide maintenance services in a senior housing and health care environment which meet, or exceed, Sunrise hospitality and service standards.
Able to respond to emergency calls outside normal work hours.
Willingness to work with the elderly
Able to work independently
Assist other Team Members when needed
Vocational school training in electrical or mechanical fields
Certification in one or more of the following fields: HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, pneumatics, and/or boilers.
