Parsons makes the world a safer place. Duties and Responsibilities: The Ft. Irwin Training Support Center (TSC) near Barstow, CA. provides training support for all various military training efforts. Parsons' Training Support Center services contract includes Training Support Center Operations and Maintenance, Devices, CTS, EIC, Supply and administrative and information management functions. The personnel provide design, prototype and construction support for approximately 20,000 training aids. They design, construct and maintain the fleet of VISMODS that replicate OPFOR equipment on the NTC battlefield. Capabilities include wood working, metal working, plastic vacuum forming, modeling, and painting. Fabrications may be requested for the products defined within. Devices provided included rotational support distribution items such as: minefield marking equipment, simulated shape charges, simulated improvised explosive devices (IEDs), simulated detonation cords, simulated Bangalore torpedo demolition kits, information display boards, terrain boards, briefing boards, simulated Mine Clearing Line Charge MICLIC training charges and practice anti-tank mines with accessory kits. VISMOD activity includes fabrication and maintenance of all VISMODs. This includes repairs and preventative maintenance, part replacement, and installation of new VISMOD kits. Preventive maintenance includes servicing, adjusting, aligning and tightening of VISMOD components. Position may require management of fabrication and subordinate exhibit specialists.
Qualifications: Experience and Qualifications: - Must have National Training Center (NTC) mission and operation experience;
- Must have minimum 2 years NTC hands on experience in wood, metal, plastic and fiberglass work, and torch cutting
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Requires specific experience at Army installation(s)
- Experience with Army Soldier Training Support Program (STSP) is strongly desired.
- Experience maintaining control and accountability for Training Aids, Devices and Simulators (TADS), products, equipment, and devices utilizing the TSMATS and IAW AR 350-38, AR 710-2, DA Pam 710-2-1, AR 735-35, AR 735-11, FM 38-741, TM 743-200-1, and TS-MATS procedures, desired
- Proof of US Citizenship required. .
Special Job Requirements: - Must be able to pass all security requirements IAW Fort Irwin Provost Marshall's Policy in order to gain access to the installation
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- Basic technical knowledge of set up and operation of shop machines, tools and equipment.
- Shop environment, frequently outdoors. Frequent exposure to dust, desert pollen, extreme heat and cold associated with desert environment and natural conditions existing on Fort Irwin.
