Overview:
The Director, Vendor Management is responsible for providing leadership and support to senior management with guidance and best practice knowledge to build vendor management discipline and consistency across the business.
The Director will work with cross functional teams with emphasis on contract management (""SOWs""), relationship management, financial analysis, strategic/big picture thinking, and domain expertise.
This role will report to the VP Accounting and Facilities.
Key Accountabilities:
Direct and consult with corporate-wide leaders in identifying their business/vendor needs.
Lead development and adoption of corporate vendor management standards.
Provide support to other functional areas in vendor management and vendor management training as needed.
Build and maintain external vendor relationships.
Mentor, counsel, and direct vendors and senior leaders with their proposals, fee arrangements and project management. Manage the vendor portfolio from a strategic vendor relationship management prospective.
Position will be based in San Francisco, with occasional travel to the New York office. Travel will be minimal, less than 15%.
Skills Summary:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Science is required.
10 years of internal vendor management experience.
Experience negotiating large external vendor contracts.
Proven ability to develop effective relationships and to work at all levels of the company including senior and executive management.
Experience working effectively across departmental lines in a complex, multi-site organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, with ability to work under minimal supervision.
Knowledge or experience in major retail control functions or an in-depth knowledge of the department store or ecommerce industry is preferred.
