Direct Sales Manager
WHO WE ARE:
Established almost twenty years ago, we are a full service wine group dedicated to producing and importing small-run wines of extraordinary quality and to sharing our passion for wine with our clients. We work closely with producers all over the world to obtain wines of the highest caliber for our clients and seek to build a meaningful connection between winemakers and consumers. We are the direct and exclusive importers of the international wines we represent. Domestically, we work as a negociant, leveraging our relationships with top growers to produce beautiful wines expressive of their terroirs.
Our wines are sold directly to our 15,000+ private clients over the phone through our brokers, who serve as personalized educators and consultants for each of the high end clients they service. Each broker is responsible for the cultivation and expansion of his or her client file. At present we have seven sales offices nationwide and are poised to expand, with plans to add several sales offices over the next 6-12 months.

THE POSITION:
To ensure the continued growth of our present offices and sales staff as well as to support our plans for the expansion of our offices and staff, we are seeking proven sales managers from the San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Orlando, Washington DC, and New York City metropolitan areas (or willing to relocate).

EACH SALES MANAGER?S RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Recruiting prospective brokers for his or her office
 Communication of the company?s mission, values, operations and policies
 Basic computer system training for wine brokers
 General wine knowledge education
 Immersion in phone sales technique in an effort to help brokers
? Interact with prospective clients in a professional and engaging manner
? Clearly present the company and our wines
? Build rapport with prospective clients
? Cold calling with leads supplied by the company
? Close sales effectively
 Ongoing sales training for our brokers
? Guidance of brokers throughout the business day
? Daily team meetings to enhance wine knowledge and to hone telephone skills
? Weekly meetings with individual brokers to review progress
 The position will require at the outset a temporary two-month relocation to our San Diego headquarters.


Requirements:

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING BACKGROUND & SKILLS:
 Minimum of five years direct to consumer sales experience by phone with a proven track record of hitting goals
 Proven ability to train and to coach both new and established sales people
 Experience in hiring, managing and inspiring new sales staff members
 Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills
 The ability to teach new wine brokers to cold call on the phone
 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
 A strong passion and enthusiasm for wine
? Previous wine industry experience preferred, but not required

COMPENSATION:
Our compensation package rewards dedication and effort
 Competitive base salary plus commission, consistent with results
